Sorry, Son of Mask I meant
sandyRoe, just having more thoughts, the mask has been used for years as a disguise, even when people knew who was behind the mask, they remained 'unknown' to help the wheels of society turn smoothly

Dicky, if Loki or Loge was the god of fire why did he need to sport a mask?

this is not exactly that it cannot be removed but the story of the iron mask in france is an interesting one. They made a film with leonardo dicaprio (forgot what it was called) about a prisoner who always had to wear a mask. no one knew who he was or why he was imprisoned. Some rumours say he was the kings brother and had a mask so he could not seize the throne, others say that it was something else. who knows...
Sith, the story is he was the younger identical twin brother of the King and the King was jealous so imprisoned him at some point.
A film (the 3 Musketeers) revolved around that story line.
so i did get it almost right.
Look up Japanese film 'Onibaba', based on old Buddhist legend.
