Why would a marriage date be mentioned in the Calendar of Wills

I think a marriage invalidates any previous wills those getting wed have made. Apart from that, I don't know.
Although as general rule sandyRoe is correct in that a marriage invalidates previous wills – I believe that the exception to this is where the intended/impending marriage is cited within the will.
