Family tree maker on mac

Is anyone running Family Tree Maker on a Mac.
I'm thinking of buying it but the reviews aren't very good.
Is it as bad as the reviews make it out to be.

When it works, it's ok, but do you really want to pay more for a product that has fewer features than its Windows counterpart? Or that has loads of errors, hangs, and crashes? Unless you are an Ancestry.co.uk user, I recommend you look elsewhere.

Doesn't it provide a free trial? I guess a trial is the best way to decide on buying a paid software tool. I use a family tree maker free but it's on Windows: http://thefamilytreemaker.org/
I guess they should have a version for Mac as well. Anyway there are a lot of freeware on the web, try searching for a free tool.
Good luck!
