Xbox headphones that let you listen to your game

I was wondering if its possible to listen to your game through headphones, not just the party chat?
I have a headset i bought from ebay but i dont know if theres a setting i need to change, or if there even is one?
They are not turtle earphones though.
If i cant do it with these, anyone know where i can get a cheap set of the turtle ones that lets me do this?

There are a couple of companies that produce headsets but like the turtle beach headsets they are all pro quality and pro price.

You can in theory jerry rig a set yourself by wiring in an appropriate connector, but it will look rubbish, sound rubbish and you would them wish you had sought out a set of turtle beach headsets.
