colin mcrae game - dirt

has any one else experienced any problems on thier ps3 dirt game with the sixaxis wireless controller ? I don't seem to be able to control the cars very well, if anyone has any settings of the cars with the controller could they advise on them, as i seem to be spending hours setting the controls & getting nowhere.
