Hello,

Just bought an X Box one for my sons and we are struggling with all aspects having previously had a Wii where you just put the game in and go.

Have started with Forza 5 put the game in yesterday and we can't play it until it has loaded is this right? Current bandwidth is about 2mb and after leaving it overnight itis only on 77%.

Also we have downloaded Fifa 15 using the EA access code and this is showing in the games as queued but nothing is happening.

Have searched the X box forums without much success as clearly we are being particularly dim. Any help appreciated
Many thanks

From the sounds of things you may just be struggling with a bad connection. The queue thing means that one task is only going to start after the first is completed. From the sounds of things you may just be struggling with a bad connection. The queue thing means that one task is only going to start after the first is completed. Which, yes, does mean that the 77% figure has to go all the way to 100% and then you should be able to play the game. Hopefully fifa 15 will, similarly, be playable once the various downloads and installations are completed. It's just a matter of time rather than a problem.

Hopefully that explains the issue. Long story short, XboxOne (and, perhaps, all similar consoles like the PLaystationFour) aren't "plug and play" consoles and are more tailored for online multiplayer -- which can require a lot of downloading, installing updates, and just generally getting on your nerves how slow it all is. Hopefully the graphics are worth it though.
That is however a very long time for the download. Games on the Xbox one do not run from the disk they run from the hard drive of the xbox, so it has to transfer from the disk to the hard drive. this takes time but at most an hour. the game will also check on-line for any updates to the core program to iron out glitches or bugs. this is what takes time. 2mb connection is relatively slow. I have 20MB and can still wait for what seems like ages to be able to start playing. on a 2mb connection it will be a lot sower but overnight still seems excessive. i suspect your 2mb connection was in reality much less than this. run a speed checker and see what speed you are actually getting. might be worth considering an upgrade if thats possible
We had a miserable Christmas Day trying to set up two xbox ones. Things I learnt are make sure that you use an email address that you can actually remember, similarly a password that's familiar and you have to say that the person is 18+ (use a real date of birth, not a random one). Stuff takes ages to download. If you have any old xbox 360 games, don't get rid of them because something (technical that I don't understand) will mean that you can soon play some Xbox 360 games on the Xbox one (I obviously have no idea what I am talking about but I have lived through it).
