4 Man Lan Party!

I'm having 3 friends over for a lan party and i need to know what hardware i should have. Am i right in thinking a simple router hub will work? it has 4 slots for ethernet cables so i was hoping it would as long as we all programmed our subnet masks etc. i was just wondering if anyone knows of anything else i need like crossover cables... switches? etc etc or if my 4 slot ethernet router will work...

If it is a wireless hub then you should be laughing. It is really easy that way.

As for wired Lan; I can only assume you are right - ethernets and a hub.

What are you planning to play anyway?

as it's a router then make sure all computers are set to use DHCP (get their IP addresses automatically) and connect using a normal ethernet cable (no crossover) and it should work fine.

Got my LAN pro mate to send me an email and he did an awesome job explaining all IP config settings etc. We're just gonna play some Battlefield, UT, Fear... etc
