Onwards and Downwards Continues in August 2014

Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Not sure if we have done fish already but it is worth taking another look. Thanks xstitcher :-).

I like the look of these healthy and low calorie fish recipes:

these fish tacos look yummy

fish curry, you could substitute brown rice or quinoa for his fluffy white rice to make it even better

Ah early bird :-)

Thanks.
Thanks Ed,
I'm trying out a new fish recipe tonight and if it's good I'll post it here tomorrow. I like the 100 things to do with tuna. Thanks for your fish site explorations.
Thank ED new month new beginnings yes the tuna recipies look good . I like tuna but it does need a bit of spicing up sometimes .
I find it usually needs 'spicing up' with a load of low or zero fat "mayonnaise" before being shoved into the jacket potato.

Which reminds me, how does one get Jacket potatoes as fine and crispy as they sell on the streets or canteens ? Mine never work out quite right. And what about that attractive looking cross at the top. Oh course the butter is left off, but I always seem to end up with either cutting the spud into quarters or having what appears to be a score mark. Maybe I've not got the inside soft enough or something and can't push it up tulip like, as the professionals do.
OF COURSE
like I typed and proof read
OG they usually come out crispy if you rub them with oil and seasoning but lol I shouldn't be telling you that .
Right, low fat oil it is then.
Well done to everyone for sticking with it, you're all troopers :-) I've really lost my way recently and my willpower has gone. I know what I shouldn't be eating, I just need some moral support, please
Have you tried Googling for it ? I'm sure one can get some cheap moral support from somewhere.
Thanks OG, on your suggestion; I've just googled Cheap Moral Support and there wasn't any, but thanks for trying :-)

;-)

If you find some I'll share it with you. I seem stuck at present myself, ever since an inexplicable higher reading appeared on the scales a while back, and it's taking it's time to start telling the truth again.
Oh dear. I hope you find some too. Someone will be along soon who'll have some to give us. PS I liked that fridge magnet, it looked like my dad, and it cheered me up :-)
Maryjn I get like that too at times . I go to asda and pick up a cake and I know I should put it back but I don't and other times I have the will power to put it back .
Thanks Wendilla :-)
Good morning all,
I'm sorry I haven't been here. I forgot to click on subscribe. Just the fact that you admit you're slipping Marijn is the first step in the right direction. Now you have to find your anti slide will power. Could you take a look at lo fat meals on google. Quite often just a change in food routines will help to loose a bit, and by loosing we begin to feel better and it puts us back on track.
I forgot to add that I have gone down 1 1/2 pounds so my week on the naughty step has served me well.
Well done xstitcher. No change for me this week, very static at the moment :-(

Never mind at least its not a gain, onwards and downwards.
Morning both and well done xstitcher . My youngest walked in last night to pick his dog up as they had been skeggie for the day and brought me 2 bars of coconut ice a nouget bar and clotted cream fudge .I have hidden them and hope I forget where I put them till I remember one night when the devil takes over .Just kept the fudge out as it says on the box best grandma in the world .But not touched them,
Maydup don't worry at least you are not gaining . its a bad time with all the icecreams to keep cool well that's my excuse.
Have you looked for sugar free and/or lo cal icecream? I buy it all the time. Of course it doesmt have the creamy taste but I'm glad that I stick to it when I get on the scales.
Wednesday again already ?
Well done to all non-gainers.
