Ive made a big bowl of rice salad to pick on when needed....cold rice with chopped peppers and onions, peas, sweetcorn, garlic mushrooms and mandarin oranges.

Need something to "ooomph it up". just tastes a bit bland so what would you add to it...Sweet chilli dipping sauce ? soy or teriyaki sauce ? something else ?

Tabasco or soy sauce
i would use soy, not sure it will go with the mandarin oranges, one way to find out i suppose
ooo hello HMan, not see you in ages! How are you?

Oranges in salad?
no sweet chilli or better still mild green chilli sauce and a few pine nuts
Maybe some well seasoned balsamic vinegar mixed with extra virgin olive oil?
I would use sweet chilli.
Olive oil and lemon juice with some ground spices (cumin, coriander, paprika) and runny honey; this is a dressing for a North African rice salad.

Hello Boo, im very well thanks...always around especially in the food section !!! xx

I usually add halved grapes or finely sliced pineapple to any rice or pasta salad i do....just gives it a bit of sweetness. My mum always made a nice rice salad and used a tin of mandarins in it.
A friend of mine boils up rice in water and pineapple juice then adds the chunks to it after its cooked. I don't like it myself though.
