i was talking to some firends about our favourite dishes as kids/teens and wondered what yours were?

mine was my nans apple pie, partly as she was a great cook and partly because we used to pick the apples xx

My mum used to make a lovely steak and kidney pie, it was with the left over meat from a stew. She would put some boiled eggs on top, they would be in the pastry lid, It was absolutely yummy. I loved her apple crumble too.

My Nan use to make me homemade cod in butter sauce. It was lovely.

4get - my nan's bread pudding too! although my mum is an excellent cook, every time she attempted to make it, it would turn out like a brick. i have tried to buy and make similar myself, but to no avail. i miss her lots...as well as her lovely pud x

My godmother used to make savoury pancakes, no-one could make them quite like she did. My mum used to make the loveliest sponge puddings, treacle was my favourite and suet pudding was good too,
Semolina - I still love it now but with honey rather than the pink whatever it was that they used at school.
Proper rice pudding with the nutmeg skin on top. My Nana lived in Durham and when we visited she did a ham and made pease pudding. I loved the pease pudding, mum used to make it but I don't know how to do it myself.
Funny how times have changed, most have said homemade foods that they missed, and then you get suzy saying how her mum gave her frozen pizza slices and some instant noodles!
