Sloe chutney:

1kg sloes
300ml malt vinegar
8 whole cloves
1 cinnamon stick
450 g brown sugar
225g raisins

Wash the sloes, put them in an ovenproof dish with a lid and cook on a low heat until soft. When cooled, puree the sloes. Put all the ingredients into a pan (the cloves & cinnamon stick should be in a muslin bag) and bring to the boil. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and then simmer for half an hour. Remove muslin, and decant the chutney to sterilised jars & seal.
This chutney actually tastes better if you leave it for about 6 weeks before you use it.

I did have a recipe for sloe jelly (brilliant with roast lamb instead of redcurrant jelly) but I've lost it. Perhaps if you google you might find one.
Here is a link for you

You can always freeze them until you can decide what to do with them, but do it soon as they won't last much longer. Mr M made Sloe Vodka last year and Sloe Bacardi the year before and thinking of trying Sloe Sherry this year.

Your very welcome anytime mrs_overall !!
Have you got a sloe cooker?
The plural of sloe is 'sloes' not sloe's'.

When will people learn that you do not use an apostrophe to pluralise nouns.
I think I have another good question.

When will people realize that being mean to other people to TRY to make themselves feel superior only makes them look pathetic?

You have a strange view of things here. Who have I been mean to? I have merely corrected a commonly made mistake hopefully educating someone in the process so that they don't make the same mistake again.

Mean? How?
That link to Reg's meadow was very enjoyable BBWCHATT, are you really from the USA?Correcting peoples grammer and spelling is not the done thing on answerbank Lucy people don't like it.
Then write correctly and I won't need to.
And by the way, the word is 'grammar' with an 'a'.
Snooty Lucy if you don't like the spelling or grammar go elsewhere , and bore someone else with literacy lessons . You could try KP or Legend on B+S !!!!!!!!!
No, I'm fine where I am thanks.
Lucy, there should be a semi-colon following 'No' in your previous post.
A lot of 'purists' would even insist upon a comma following 'am': however, we'll let that one go by.
Lucy , you are not quite as literate as you think , but do try to sort KP and Legend out as they really do need some help . You will be doing all Abers a favour as there are problems deciphering their posts .
use vodka instead of gin really nice
Lucy, I'm with you on this one. This may not be the most appropriate time or place to gently correct other peoples misuse of grammer but I reckon standards of communication have fallen somewhat over the years and although they may generally get their point across, it would be easier to understand their question if they used a correct standard of English grammer rules. Cheers, Andy.
Oops, I fell into the same trap - grammar is,of course, correct. Sorry, Andy
