Wimpeys bender sausage?

I love wimpy's bender sausage but theres no wimpy near me. Does any1 know what a bender sausage is? I have had a frankfurter and it didn't taste like that, and a normal sausage don't taste like a wimpy's bender either.

not too sure about this question but trying to remember what they are like.
I am sure they are smoked sausages cut down the sides and probably deep fried for a short time.
Next time you are shopping, look for smoked sausage instead of frankfurters. Totally different taste
Aren't they just a Mattisons smoked sausage? (available at any supermarket) You can also get them in chippies cut in half and fried, for some extortionate price labelled as a 'Smokey'.

At last I have found someone else who used to love those wimpey benders. We do not have any wimpies near us now and I havent had one for ages. If you find the same sausage can you let me know please.

I will do.
I went to a wimpy yesterday for the first time in years yesterday and was gutted to find they no longer call them benders. They are just now called frankfurters in a bun. I had a lovely hamburger

Try this site. My Hungarian friend gave me one of these smoked sausages and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was a "hot" one, but it also comes in a mild variety, same flavor but without the "kick". The company is Bender & Sons; perhaps that's the bender referred to in the Wimpy's bender.

Try this link (no pun intended). My Hungarian friend gave me one of these sausages to try, and I thought I had died and gone to heaven. It was a spicy hot one, but it also comes in a mild version, same flavor, but without the kick.
