Sunday. Cloudy again this morning.

Yesterday turned out nice, warm and sunny. A slow start, but the afternoon was better. we had a lot of lovely people in, exactly 100 visitors. We sold a lot of ice creams.

Friends here for lunch today. Always good fun. the wee white tornado will be supervising in the kitchen.

Have a happy day everyone.

Hello, boaty and all who come in later.
Had the loveliest day ever at son's wedding yesterday. Just perfect! I'm even happy about being old enough to have a son old enough to be married. :))

Morning jo. xxx

I take it you were very young when you had him! ;o}

I'm glad it all went off well.
Question Author
Sorry about the delay in replying, I was in the kitchen.
Oh I was very, very young of course. ;))

I was quite young, actually but not scarily young. :))

I'm glad we didn't have today's weather yesterday.
Question Author
Good answer jo! ;o}

The sky is clearing here now and the sun is shining. How long it will last remains to be seen.
Morning Cloverjo and WBM lovely day yesterday and looks like the same today.
Glad the wedding went off without any problems Cloverjo, WBM I hope you are prepping already for your lunch.

Morning islay xxx Yes, I've done all I can for the moment, being on the canal all day yesterday I couldn't do the necessary shoplifting, bad planning on my part. So I must do that later. I'll set the table before I go out. That won't take long, then when I get back I can the rest done in the kitchen. I'm doing butternut squash soup for starter, that's the one that will take the longest. Main is rump steak with mashed sweet potato, baked creamy mash, and mixed veg. Pud I haven't quite decided on.
Tesco frozen butternut squash is very good or they do bags of fresh mixed with sweet potato already chopped and saves a lot of time
Why not get some ready made meringue nests and either smash them and do Eton mess or leave whole and serve with fruit and cream.
Question Author
Good point islay. Thank you I hadn't thought of that. I like to do everything from scratch, but I will have a look, that would save me a lot of time. It would save me a good hour!
Question Author
Islay I love you! :o}

That's pud sorted.
Lol no worries nothing wrong with taking a few shortcuts xx
Question Author
Thinking about it, Eton mess it will be as I find the ready made meringue nests are far too sweet, so I can do something about that.
Question Author
That's true. I usually start the day before and, as I said, I like to do everything from scratch, Not possible today. I'm a lot happier now. Thank you.
Morning all and congrats to Jo - great that you had a lovely day.

overcast and humid here, dry though....probably the sister's for lunch otherwise I am condemned to wield the strimmer once more - rain stopped play yesterday.
Question Author
Morning DT. It's clouding over here again now. No barbie today.
Morning DTC
I love making meringues.....then pulverise the 1/2 the rasps and mix with caster and lemon to taste....berries on top of the large meringue/strawbs/rasps/blueberries and/or whatever - peaches makes a nice variant too....and then whipped cream (again not the sweet stuff).
Question Author
My plan too DT. I'll see what's available. I'll see if I can get some strawberry puree too.
Morning All !

Glad that you had a nice day yesterday Jo. I was thinking of you, when it came over all cloudy here, and started to spit a bit !

Dreadful this morning....I can't see the other side of the Valley at all. I have nothing planned for today, so I don't really mind.
