Did anyone watch this last night? They went into a room and it had an ashtray full of cigarette ends!

I saw it....and, apart from wondering why himself has not booked me in for a weekend, I suspect that you can do what you please if your bill will total more than £100,000, you can afford it and you will be back next year for more of the same!! Jealous? Me??? oh yes...but what lovely staff too.
Hotels can allow smoking in their rooms - it's up to the hotel
I didn't see it,but I wonder if Gina was shocked because the ashtray hadn't been cleaned? Was the bed unmade also?
;-0
what hotel was it?
Didn't see it. Very swanky and expensive, isn't it?
Mm, as little as £420 per night, on mamya's link.
The guy in charge of the luggage at the front of house, with just a suit on, was a bit too chatty about his tips.

He said: just a smile, good morning etc, gets you a £50.00 tip. or at least £20.00, and that can happen all day.

Hope the local taxman's not watching?
HMRC will estimate your tips for you
What else would you expect an ashtray to be full of?

To a certain degree jno, depends where you work, and what you have submitted, & if there was a tax inspector watching, I bet they will check him checked out.
Error: Get him checked out.
Shock and awe! A loaded ashtray!
These Potentates also left behind an unpaid bill for "hundreds of thousands", (the suite was £8000+ a night for the Principal, there would be others for the retinue) apparently a normal thing at this level.
The last time this person stayed there it took 9 months to settle the bill.
On the subject of smoking, it's a fact that like all the other stuff which we the great unwashed have had give up or toe the line with like ecology, diet, etc. the nobs have completely ignored and sail along as they always have done in their gas guzzling Bentleys, homes that require the energy of a small town to heat, private yachts, aircraft etc. (all of which are at the disposal of our caring politicians for their hols)
The sort of Hotels and clubs frequented by our betters would not dream of telling their guests to put out their Cuban cigars...
My guess is that ashtrays full or otherwise are very low on the management's radar, apart that is from seeing that they are replaced with clean ones every time these folk leave their rooms.
