Had to go last Thursday for The second last fitting of Vanplast.

Now, you need to believe this, dentist puts loose false teeth plate into my mouth - she holds it up and then she asks me to hold it up.

She asks me "what do you think" I'm going - well I am holding it up.

I asked what will hold it up (final one) oh the clasps - well, then I said I can't give you an opinion. Anyway how do I take care of the vanplast (she said I'll ask technician). Oh I will ask him to give me a copy of instructions.

So, I don't know where I am - on 15 Dec is the final fit - I genuinely don't know what to expect. Think I made a grave mistake in ending up picking these dentists after 5 different ones.

I couldn't be expected to make an assumption or decision with these flopping in my mouth. What should I do next "final fitting". I did still owe £300. If they are terrible what should I do.

j9pur is never around when you need him. Not that I am expecting him here right now at this minute.

As far as I am concerned there are no helpful dental help here.

Just our usual Sqad Slaney etc. I have always found dental help here poor.
Dental help poor on AB or in NI?
Ask the Ed to do a recruitment drive JJ ;-)

I would love to see your answers as funny but when you are coming through years and years of discomfort and financial discomfort it no longer becomes funny. Somehow I can't see the funny side of any of it. It has been the worst 2 years of my life.
I'm sorry if my lame attempt at humour has offended JJ, I didn't mean to.

I currently have a very nasty dental abscess and am popping painkillers and antibiotics and face a double extraction on Friday - it's only humour that's keeping me sane but my reply was ill judged.
Conne. Jpur may see this post.
I wasn't trying to be funny. I really didn't know whether "As far as I am concerned there are no helpful dental help here." was referring to AB or where you live.

JJ...you're bang out of order! Professionals charge for their time, why are you demanding it for free?

Oh, conne !!!

hiya anne - oh Conne - what do you mean honey.
Your answer has been removed, JJ, does that not explain it?
Your post about the dentist ( who occasionally looks is and is helpful) was removed.
I saw this, but I have to ask how can you expect 'helpful dental help' from an internet forum?
If your new dental plate does not fit complain to the dentist. Only you are using it and can feel/see if it fits. If it is not good enough tell them.
Yes that's all you can do.
I went for a new denture a few years ago and the dentist was useless !
Six appointments later I came away with a exact copy of my old denture, we both agreed that would be the best solution all round, yes I did change my dentist lol
