I posted that particular video as Sam mentioned Matcha in the original post.

Looks good too.
I bought a lovely fat Swiss roll from Morrisons fresh cake counter, with raspberry jam an fresh cream,£2.50. Probably couldn't make it for that and it was delicious!
I've never made a Swiss roll, and don't intend to start now. But that gorgeous one in the video looks amazingly like a bright green sushi roll. ;-)
I have made Swiss roll - a long time ago at primary school. I didn't see your question in Food.
I last made a swiss roll in 1967 it was relatively easy and as with most cakes tastes better than those that have been bought...difficult to roll up but great that cracks can be filled with more icing!!

Thanks guys. I will try that recipe next weekend Mammy. The thing is Margo, I enjoy baking and find it quite relaxing, at the weekend, especially in winter. I will keep you all updated with my success/disaster .
Yes do let us know.
Chefs make them at the kitchen I work in. Just rolled up warm from the oven, no pre rolling .
Cover baking parchment with caster sugar, place warm from baking tin 'flat roll' on sugared parchment. Cover with jam. Roll up by lifting the parchment to help it roll up. The baked flat cake has to be warm from the oven so it is flexible to roll.
I used to make at least one per month when the kids were small. Secret is to have the sugared, greaseproof paper ready and to roll very, very fast!
I imagine it makes a difference if Sam is making a Matcha Roll with cream inside a warm cake might make the cream run?
Not my speciality is cake, so I just grabbed a video of a recipe.
How can Swiss rolls exist if no one has made them?
