It's way to hot for cooking - or even assembling a proper meal.

So lunch/tea today has been "what's hiding at the back of the fridge/cupboard"

It turned out as layers of Camembert, Chicken Liver Pate and Crisps all squashed inside a buttered crusty cob.

Blooming marvellous - I might patent the recipe.

Glass of Costiere de Nimes to go with.

Job well done

That sounds nearly as good as my favourite sarnie, Stilton with mango chutney!

Sorry but yuck - what a mixture

But as long as you liked it that is all that matters.
Please please tell ginge it's too hot to cook.

Ahhhh...now you've gave me an idea. He can have a steak roll!!
Sausage and mango chutney is nice Chris.

I used to sneer at crisps in sarnies - but I am a complete convert - especially the fancy flavours - beetroot and chevre today ...
I like a crisp sandwich.
Cheese and onion with salad cream and a handful of walkers salt and vinegar is one of my dirty secrets. :-)
Sounds gorgeous, SD.

Have you tried Aldi's Exquisite Collection Riesling? I tried it last night and I was very impressed x
Love crisp butties and mango chutney goes lovely with most things.
Our favourite at the moment if we have Camembert (or Brie) is to add sliced banana to it - flippin' lovely.
Crisp butties I can do but as a separate entity please.
tuna, sea salt, a good mayo and salt and vinegar crisps mmmmmm
Mamya, I agree with you in general but I have never quite recovered from one of a friends signature dishes which was chicken breasts smothered in mago chutney and ten minutes before ready slices of orange and banana were added. I have another of her specialities if you are interested......

Captain, Brie and walnut on granary bread is delicious when served at room temp.
I agree Eccles - or even better on walnut bread (M&S)
If I had walnut bread I might be tempted to add some figs......mmmm,...oh yes :-)
Tonight it is cold Cumberland-sausage salad with new-potato salad to go with it. I left the saus. on v. low heat in the pan and went elsewhere whilst they cooked, only turned them twice, the pot. salad was with yesterday's left-overs.
Decent Shiraz with it.
