Hello!

At the end of last month, a lot of us were down, and only a couple on the naughty step.

I bought a new toy this month, a Polar M400 - which is an activity watch - and a matching set of scales. The scales sync with the watch, and all gets recorded alongside the activity tracking. It then guesses whether you've been eating too many cream cakes (spoiler: yes). It also lets you set a weight goal, and sets your activity requirements based on that.

Maybe it's a bit pointless, but I'm enjoying the novelty so far!

I think it might have some value in the way that you can sometimes forget the sweets or snacks you've snuck in, this might remind me of the activity that I haven't done.

Anyone got a salad to share?

I had a kind of "Thrifty Ceviche" - based on this recipie here - last night. http://www.skinnytaste.com/canned-tuna-ceviche/ - it's thrifty because it uses canned tuna. I dropped the avocado and olive oil, and added separate baby leaf salad.

Also been making a warm mixed garlicky greens and smoked salmon thing. This is white-peppered broccoli, green beans, and spinach, steamed in a wok by adding a little water over and over. Once softened, add finely sliced garlic and roughly chopped spring onion. Add a tiny bit of butter to make it richer if you want, (or when you're off the diet!). Tear smoked salmon on top and serve!

Your turn!

Cheers Ed.
I bought an activity watch once, when I used to go to the gym. That shows how long ago it was. Found it the other day, unused, still in the box !

These new ones are really good OG - loads of information which you can pretend is super useful to your "training plan".

Oh, and I'm hovering around the 87KG mark, still. Which is up a bit. Not noticeably wobblier, so I'm pretending it's just muscle going on :)
That soft squishy muscle eh. Yeah I get that sometimes too.
I had one of those things that clocked p how many steps you took . Found that in the drawer too.
should be up not p
hi everyone, sotty i have been AWOL again, this time for quite a while. Exciting news: I am now 1.5 pounds off of the 3 stone lost mark. I am trying to work out what my "goal" weight is - you may or my not remember tht i have a goal size rther thn weight but i also need aa weight for the diet club.
i looked at BMI but was rather disapponted to relise i would have to amputate all my limbs to be in the "healthy" weight range!
Well done. Concentrate on the "1.5 pounds off of the 3 stone lost mark" rather than the journey ahead. One can get overwhelmed trying to take in the whole picture, but look after the ounces and the pounds will look after themselves.
that's very good advice
thanks
Pleasantly surprised to find I'm down 2.2 lbs on the week.
0.8 lbs over the last 24 hours.
Well done OG
Bednobs good advice from OG . I don't look too far ahead just aim for a week at a time .i have a habit of staying the same even though I have been good but I don't let it get me down as long as I don't gain too much .
I forgot to say well done bednobs
Thanks.
No one else stepped on the scales today ?
I have OG but with no joy! I think the heat here has gone to my head as I have forgotten to tap on subscribe and to check in today.

Back up to 88KG from reckless pastry eating over here.
Up to.
Gee, on a really good day I may be down to that.
Ed...why did you ditch the avocado and olive oil? Both are super healthy fats that your body needs. Unheated olive oil is shown to be very good for heart health, and reducing risks of heart disease.(as reported by Dr Michael Mosely on a recent BBC series on health).Losing weight is no longer about being fat free. ;-)

Hi Pasta,

While you're correct, I don't need any extra fats - nor the calories which come with them.

For me, who cycles mostly, reducing my body fat percentage is one of the clear goals.

So that's one of the reasons why :)
