I have some being delivered today.

I think I tried an Ostrich burger once.

Anyone had them? Best way to cook them?

Delicious....I just treated them like a top-quality thick beef steak.

Nice and easy then.

Does it taste like steak?

My cousin is in training for Iron Man so we're looking for nice lean meat.
Someone brought some to a BBQ we had in Summer - very tender and moist if cooked to no more than medium rare, but to me it tasted like liver.

Quite gamey then.

When I have venison I can taste the hint of liver. I quite like liver though.
Nice to see you're not burying your head in the sand when it comes to trying new food, ummm :-)

Melv...I do try things unless it's cooked in the street in a hot country!! :-)

I've ordered frozen avocado. I will report back...
Never had them Ummmm. But do let us know if you liked them.
Not an easy purchase to find. Google came up with very little although I found a muscle building site that sold them ! Let us know how it went.
They sell them at Iceland.
That would be one hell of a drumstick
Never cooked them, but had one from a burger place near me. Lovely, very tasty and yes, quite gamey.
I've seen them in Iceland also...along with kangaroo.

I'm not sure about frozen avocado though. What will you do with it?
Question Author
O_G I got them from Tesco...

Pasta....I haven't got a clue about the avocado. I love it in salad so we'll see.
Is it these?http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/nov/13/launch-tescos-frozen-avocado-could-help-reduce-britains-food-waste

I'd be curious to know what they are like.
Ah, the "being delivered" threw me. The related questions are interesting too. The site I found has zebra ! All their steaks are "fun size" though.
Don't believe selling a frozen unpleasant tasting fruit is going to help reduce food waste much. Not that, that much is wasted in my place.

MrAC likes ostrich steak in red wine, potatoes and veg, which we've had when eating out. At home I simply it pan-fried in a little onion and garlic, served with sweet potato (or parsnip) chips and fried egg. Ostrich is fairly priced in Iceland
Question Author
O_G I know you're a salad dodger :-)

I love it. I even sent my OH's work mate a lovely salad for his lunch.
