I think slinky.kate has one and she loves it.
What's the point of a "soup maker"? All you need to make fabulous soup is a saucepan and a liquidiser.
Agree with diddlydo.
You don't even need a liquidiser.
I've got one, used it once and now it's in the back of the cupboard. x
Yes nothing you can't do better with a saucepan and a stick blender.
I should have added, its not something I would have.
I was given one as a gift, the downsides are:

Need a plug point
They are fiddly to clean (best to clean out straight after use)
there is a residual plasticky taste in the soup

I use a saucepan and blender and it makes a much better soup in my opinion (no plastic taste)

ok thanks for that, what are your best soup recipes?
I had one but I prefer my good old trusty pot. It makes fandabbydozysoup. I gave my soup maker to a charity shop.
I agree copa. I use my blender after it's all cooked. This thread has got me into soup making mode. Will make a pot or two this weekend I think. Freeze a load of it.
I love spicy carrot (mild). I just use onion, garlic, chilli (to taste) carrots and stock...boil, blend...S&P...and a touch if cream if you fancy it.
