I was left a chicken curry in my fridge by a friend who stayed at my place when I was away. She obviously didn`t realise I wasn`t coming back until this morning. The use by date is 30th August. Would you eat it? I`m going on hol on Friday, don`t want to make myself ill!

A couple of days over should'nt be a problem if it has been in the fridge.
Yes, I would.
No problem at all
for sure I would eat it.... you will not make yourself ill if you do... make sure you have heated it through thoroughly first.

Thanks for the replies. I`ll nuke it in the microwave then.
Bit late, you'll have ingested it by now! I personally would thoroughly reheat and eat it, but wouldn't give it to anyone vulnerable - elderly, ill etc. - not that I think it would be a problem, but to cover myself.
I loathe the use of the word 'vulnerable' in this kind of context. Everyone is 'vulnerable' to some extent, depending on circumstances. The manager of my housing block told me that I was classed as a vulnerable adult because I lived in sheltered housing. My reply was that I don't live in sheltered accommodation because I am a vulnerable adult, I do so because I'm a lazy git!
Curry was originally intended to disguise the taste of rotten meat. So bit over the use by date will not do any harm!
