I always use dill.
Dill or parsley
Agree with the others, but my stepdaughter makes a wonderful fish pie and her secret is a dash of Vermouth or cheaper white martini (most supermarkets). I've tried it and it works beautifully.
Hi Barsel, funny you should ask about herbs for fish pie, I've just made one to freeze, to eat at the end of this coming week. My recipe's got chives in it, they are always quite flavoursome. Hope it turns out well. Chox.
I always chuck a sprinkling of mixed herbs in, anything to add another layer of taste, works well with fish surprisingly.
sherry works well - but obviously not a herb!

Thanks for your suggestions.I suppose I should have checked on which herbs I have in the cupboard before I asked :-) Unfortunately I don't have any dill or parsley and cannot add alcohol due to medication. I've got chives so thanks for that chokkie and I've also got Oregano????? would that be ok? The rest of my herbs seem to be mainly for meat and pasta dishes. x
Yep, oregano works with fish.
To be honest, I think most herbs do although there will always be some who say they don't. As I said, I use mixed herbs, not loads but a few good pinches.
