yes haave mine on now..murphy richards...was talking about you only yesters Tinks ! still in lurrrrrve ?
I've got a soup maker .................me!
Yes I have a soup maker but no, I wouldn't particularly recommend one. I think a big pot does the same job, ok, maybe slightly slower but it still makes perfect soup. It's a purely personal choice. I only have a soup maker because I won one otherwise I wouldn't have bought one. Yes, it makes great soup but, as I say, so does a big pot. Good luck Tinks xx
A pan and liquidiser works just as well.
Same here. To make delicious soups or stews, all you need is a big pot, a stove, the ingredients, and you

I just have my big soup pot... I was thinking more for convenience of it being much quicker!? I work long shifts and sometimes i just want something ready QUICKLY! I wish i was a bit more organised- havent been well recently actually so tending to go for quicker options!

Used to love standing cooking & im sure it will come back with time!!

For a convenience point of view i think i would
Prob like one!!

Oooh were you now MM? Good stuff i hope! Haha! Yes weddings still on! Hahahahahaha xx
What about making a large quantity and freezing in portions, then you would be able to have your soup very quickly.
That's what I do, dannyk13. That's why I mentioned a big pot. If you're going to the "trouble" of getting all the ingredients prepared etc, you might as well make a big batch and freeze some: what's the point in making soup just for one meal?
Tinks, as you work long hours and shifts, maybe a slow cooker would be better for you. Just put all the ingredients into the slow cooker, switch on and there's lovey hot soup all ready for you when you come home.

I do have a slow cooker jan! I think im prob not very adventurous with it..its used mainly for stews, spag bol & chillie LOL....my friend does a whole chicken etc...i should prob branch out.

Im one of these people whos freezer is always rammed with things i dont blinkin eat, really must do a clear out xx
I'm the same Tinkerbell. Freezer full of things that eventually get shown the bin ! A slow cooker though does so many things and soup is one of the things it does well and especially for someone who goes out to work. In the winter, it's nice to come home to a hot meal without any of the hassle.
i dont think that soupmakers work any faster than a saucepan and a blender.

I use a blender at the end. It's so quick.

I have a blender at least...whizzed up curry sauce etc xx
I made a load of courgette soup this year. I put everything in a big pan, rendered it for 30mins then attacked it with a stick blender.
okay, boil water in electric kettle, if you want to sweat the veg, heat some oil in your saucepan at the same time. While kettle boiling prep your veg, which is the bit which takes the longest. Sling veg in saucepan to sweat or just sling it in over heat with a stock cube or whatever you want. Pout over boiling water cover and simmer. All the soup maker does is simmer the soup like the saucepan and blend it at the end. Things to do to speed up the process, buy ready prepped frozen veg. If you know you are going to want soup then sling whatever you want in the saucepan to thaw before you go to work.
As others have suggested above, making soup - together with freezing any excess - just has to be about the easiest cooking activity known to mankind. Money spent on a soup-maker seems a total waste to me.
I have a soup maker and I love it!....so quick and easy to make a lovely fresh soup in just 22 mins, I use mine often during the winter months, it's great for left over chicken or any scraps of cooked meat and all the veg that needs using up, personally I wouldn't be without it.....
