I love olives, black, green or stuffed. However, I can@T really distinguish between good and mediocre. Which olives are the very best?

(I do realise that this might be a Question which relates to 'whatever you like' but I would like to taste the crème de la crème of olives. Which are they?)

Nooooo!
Olives are an acquired taste but I love them, have to pitted, have tried stuffed with garlic and chilli and love them like you Tilly I would like to know which is best, I have bought from deli counters and bought in jars and they all taste good! I have tasted them on holiday in hotels but have to be careful not to pick the ones with stones!
I've never had olives as good as those I had in the Algarve - big fat green ones with stones still in.

Of the ones available here, I think Kalamata are well thought of (I like them stuffed with anchovies) - but I think a lot of it is down to freshness.
I agree with carrust. And cranberries are the devil's winnits.
I agree about cranberries.
What's not to like about gherkins?
everything that's not to like about cucumber, with added vinegar Obiter, thanks for asking :D
I love olives, black ones which I can't remember the name of.... Spanish I think Houblianca, occasionally I buy the green ones but never in brine. Kalamata from Greece are OK. I usually go for the fat looking black ones and I can't remember the names of them.
What's not to like about cucumber?
Small marrow with added courgette Obiter. Glad to be of assistance.
Given your distaste for cucumber Frognog, if ever you are invited to a royal garden party you will go away hungry.
I know Obiter. Luckily I am far too common.
my favourite black olives are the dry ones that are sold in little resealable packs in supermarkets Marks and sparks in jars in oil are good to, especially the cheese stuffed ones but they are very oily.

Er, no, best not otherwise it's a short trip to the naughty step.
NOW I'm interested.
Sorry for derailing Tilly2. My partner loves olives but I can't stand the things. I'm only playing but I'll stop now. Sorry again. (Stuey can I be Canadianese now?). :)
Kalamata for me Tilly

I'll look out for the Kalamata ones then. They seem to have the most votes.
