The monkeys love a nice Chateau D-Yqem, 1959 or 45 vintage, mind you.....
Do you have a problem with Alcohol?
I'm not planning to go to London so I'll have to decline the invitation.
Can I come with you Henrietta - you sound my kind of woman.
i don't know but i'm sure you could slip some gin into a lemonade bottle and get away with it

and/or vodka !
are bags searched when going into london zoo then? How would anyone know you had it, and how would anyone know it was alcohol?
It's ok, as long as you don't feed it to the warders.
I've done exactly the same thing at the cinema - decanted red wine into a soft drink bottle so me and my housemate can enjoy a drinky poo while we watch the fillum! I wouldn't worry about it, 'what the eye don't see' and all that...
From the website:
No alcohol or glass will be allowed to be brought onsite
Bag searches will be carried out at the entrance
Last admission into the Zoo 8:00pm

Pah! no-one will know - Just don't try and climb into any cages ;o)
You won't get it past the sniffer monkeys...
Can I ask why?
why would you want to?

I'm going to London with grasscarp and Henrietta :)
Even if they do search bags vodka in a water bottle or red wine in a fruit shoot bottle will cause no suspicion at all. Nothing to stop you drinking some of your coke for example and topping it up with vodka. Beer or wine in a clear bottle might be a little more obvious, so disguise it well and it'll be fine.
If it was whiskey you you pass it off as a urine sample....how's that, would it suit?
You're alright as long as you don't take Cobra or Tiger beer as they maybe confused with the animal samples!

Thank you for all of your informative and funny answers. I've been going through a tough time and this really made me smile.

Fyi no I wasn't going with kids but with the girls which we'll probably do tomorrow or this week as I can't afford to buy soft drinks at these places let alone their crazy prices for alcohol
I think it would be pretty anal for the authorities at LZ to go rifling through peoples' handbags looking for the odd bit of grog.
To be extra sure, make sure it's colour-matched eg. pre-mix vodka and orange then re-decant it into a 1ltr "Innocent" bottle :-) You could call the cocktail a "Guilty" :-)))
