I`m just listening to the radio and the DJ asked "When was the last time that you had a Sunday roast?" I can`t remember the last time that I had one because I don`t fancy it during the summer. Now that the summer seems to have disappeared, is it time for Sunday roasts once again?

Well we're having one tomorrow, first time in a few weeks and can't wait. Roast chicken, kilted sausages, stuffing, roast tatties and lots of veg

So am I Mazie - first time for a few weeks and then going to work afterwards which might not be a very good idea as I tend to feel sleepy after a roast. What are kilted sausages? Are they sausages wrapped in bacon?
I was just thinking about having a roast dinner of sorts tomorrow, but it will be in the evening. Even in the depths of winter, we'll eat our main meal in the evening rather than during the daytime.

Tomorrow I think I will wrap some new potatoes in foil with oil and rosemary and have them with stuffed courgettes and runner beans. Harvest time here!

That sounds lovely Maidup. Fender - which type of meat do you have?

I never make a Sunday roast but I am doing a joint of ham tomorrow (got a voucher for £5 off £10 of meat at Morrisons) and they will have it with salad and new potatoes (I will have mine in a sarnie later on).

Doing poached salmon tomorrow. I love my Sunday roast and kept it up even when I moved here to France 10 years ago - but the quality of the meat is so poor that we have almost become vegetarians. Fortunately i have just sold my house so am looking forward to resuming the Sunday roast tradition.
Sunday is sacred for Sunday roast, tomorrow it's roast beef, cauliflower cheese and roast potatoes and mash. For the past few weeks especially when it was very warm we have had sirloin steak with onions maybe chips and peas, but generally Sunday is the main 'meat' or big dinner day

I only ever have roast chicken. I do like beef and lamb if someone cooks it for me but I never really cook it myself. During the summer, I like to get a chicken and cover it in Cajun spices and put lots of lemon, thyme and garlic around it. I call it my summer roast. Somehow I think my summer roast is finished for this year. Sad really. But then again - now is the time for fat laden roasties, stuffing and brussels sprouts. Happy days.
I have missed my Sunday Roasts in this warm weather. Roll on Autumn, I say.
Mrs av says that were having roast pork and all the trimmings tomorrow.

That sounds nice Tony. Especially if there is crackling (it`s not good for your teeth though)
I can't be bothered,being on my own!
Love the crackling, 237SJ.

Maybe go to a carvery then, CatGirl4.
"What are kilted sausages? Are they sausages wrapped in bacon?" Yes SJ, not a chicken dinner without them. Enjoy your Sunday Lunch folks x
You get Sunday roast from the pub.
Sunday roast every week without fail. Today is my favourite roast pork with all the trimming coming from the allotment...spuds, leeks, parsnips, runner beans and courgettes
We're having a Sunday dinner with steak instead of roast beef.
