has anyone got a recipe for keema like that found in Indian takeaways - thin, bright red slivers of tasty meat, inside a naan? I've tried umpteen recipes from the internet but most come out as a mince curry.

I don't do takeaways,so do not know what their keema is like, but 'keema' is said to mean mince. I've only ever used Madhur Jaffreys recipe...and that uses lamb mince.
The Keema`s bright red because it`s got food colouring in. Most Indian cookbooks are for Indian home cookery which is very different to restaurant food. I have an Indian restaurant book somewhere - I`ll have a look.
Keema is mince by the way.
Have just looked at my book and the recipe is just for the minced lamb but with food colouring so probably not much different to yours.
