Dark Horse Chardonnay 2011 (13.5%)

This delicious, juicy Californian gem is bursting at the seams with aromas of peach and custard and soft flavours of baked pear with subtle toasty notes. The addition of a small quantity of viognier lends a delicate hint of blossom on the finish.

Silky and velvety on the palate, this sumptuous white will complement all types of Asian cuisine or even pair well with spicy nibbles or smoked salmon and créme fraiche.

Available in Sainsburys for the normal price of £8.99.

I can also highly recommend Sainsburys Taste The Difference Petit Cables currently on offer at 2 for £12 (£8.99 each).
Just being knocking back an excellent Pies Negros, a Rioja.

Tonight or tomorrow a Tesco 1/2 price C de Rhone from Calvet, their Heritage.

A rioja sounds rather nice, DT.
Rioja...mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!! Getting into Duoro's now too.

Those are rather moorish too, Zacs.
Giesen Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012 12.5% Gooseberry and citrus flavours and (to me) cut grass. £7.12 (from £9.49) at Tesco until 24 Feb.

That sounds rather nice though I must say I am falling out of love with the NZ sauvs. I think that due to rapidly increasing demand they are churning out some rather inferior and quite acidic sauvs.

I am more interested in what they are producing in terms of Rising, chardonnay and pinot gris right now.

That's Riesling btw
Morning NoM

Zacs - if you are liking Douro and you have a local Aldi, then try their Ribera del Duero - very nice indeed

I agree with you, NoM, though I do like the better ones. I'm a fan of the SB/Semillon blend and there are some crackers coming out of West Australia.

I tried that at Chrimbo, Dave. Not bad, not bad at all.

I will keep my eyes peeled, DT.
Vasse Felix, Waitrose, about 11 a bottle, NoM.
Mmm, yummers!
