No Pesto!

Am doing a recipe that asks for 1 tbsp pesto. Was convinced I had some in the fridge but apparently not! Can I substitute with anything or just leave out??

Its a sweet potato risotto you make in slow cooker. Says to add pesto and peas after 2 hrs.....
so 2 hours gives you long enough to go and buy some pesto ........
Send one of your offspring to the corner shop for a jar...
Pesto and sweet potato just doesn't seem right.
1 tbs in a recipe for presumably 3-4 people isn't of much consequence.

Add any herbs you have to hand and a grating of Parmesan for the umami hit.
Thyme goes well with sweet potato and so does a touch of sage if you have either of those in your garden.

Cant out - waiting for call. Ok, will improvise.........
Have you got any fresh spinach or rocket? Shred a few handfuls and add at the end of cooking instead of the pesto.

Yes have some of those last few suggestions so will try that, and the parmesan x
