Has this stopped or is it carrying on in a different place under a new name maybe?

Blue Nun?
Wow! We're having lasagne and salad.
Sounds like a CDWM menu.....
Question Author
Bluenun? For all three courses?

Tilly2, we have visitors from oz here for the olympics and i wanted to show them something better then my usual of chilli con carne or cheese on toast
Sounds like a wind up to me.........
Red, white, rosé, dry, medium?

Pasta, cdwm and dinner date etc.. are amongst my favourite shows so you could say they were my indirect inspiration.

Nomercy i don't have a clue about wines whatsover as i hardly drink the stuff and hardly ever entertain so any help would be much appreciated
I think I'd go for a lighter starter...and leave the chocolate out of the lobster...that makes me queasy...
Hi Diasheena are you new here, then you would know what has happened to wine of the week.
But with a menu like yours, you should not be stuck for wine.
Okay, white is fairly safe bet. What's your budget and which store will you buy from?
That's really pushing the boat out, more of a banquet than a lunch!

eclescake was that to me???

Pastafreak we had this sauce on an island when we were in the Maldives and it really works.

The chef understandably didn't want to give me the whole recipe but through tastebud detection i think i have it right on the money

I can go to £10 or so each bottle nomercy and Tesco, Sainsburies, M&S or Waitrose are all nearby.

It's a special occasion with the olympics and visitors so don't mind pushing the boat out for one or two days a year as the rest of the year we eat pretty bog standard meals without wine.
Okay, having never tasted that culinary masterpiece, I would recommend a wine that pairs with most foods. Luis Felipe Edwards Chardonnay / Viognier is rich and fruity with a creamy finish, but won't overpower the food. Currently in offer in the Co-Op at £4.49.
Question Author
Would that be for all three meals nomercy? Do you think three bottles would be enough as the guests coming do drink, my and oh don't but will be tonight.
Waitrose do a superb Gruner Veltliner for around £11, which would compliment the starter and a NZ Pinot Gris for about £9.29 which would make an interesting match for the lobster.

The only wine I would ever recommend with dessert is Inniskillen Canadian Ice Wine - about £26 for a 50cl bottle and probably on sale in Waitrose.
If you don't entertain very often, do you not think that your menu is a little over ambitious?
Or are you a chef? No, you can't be. Not if you don't know your wines.
LOL.
