Shrinking is usually associated with over cooking or leaving the cakes in the tin to cool rather than putting on a rack.
keep the moisture in by covering with a clean teatowel while they are cooling
I prefer the case to come away as paper in the mouth is not so nice.
If you get dearer cup cake cases the greaseproof ones they are ok. But I know what you mean it is very annoying and just doesnt look nice if you need to put them on show. Brenda x
