Well I use ordinary potato skins in soups
I wouldnt put any potato skin in soup, why would you?
Try it and let us know what it was like. Did you intend "blitzing" it or leaving it lumpy?
You can.

I wouldn't.

I thought if I added the skins to veg and after cooking blitz it that would thicken it
just adding potato will thicken it, throw the skins away or give them to the dog, if you havnt got a dog, find one! they love sweet potato skins.

But I am using the potato in a curry
I don't want to waste the skins

Also can I use cauliflower leaves in this soup
I am using the florets in the curry
and when you kill the pig, you can use every part except the Oink!!
why not use the skins to flavour the stock then throw them
Question Author
I just thought I could use them especially as ordinary potato skins are so tasty
Yes by all means, sweet potato is stunning in curry, the skin has most of the nutrition and should give a diff look tom the soup, good luck, let us know how it went down!
I cut sweet potatoes in half and scoop out the flesh for whatever recipe I am using.
I then brush oil on the skins, sprinkle with salt and roast them in the oven. I like to snack on the roasted skins
