Glucose or corn syrup

Does anybody know if i Can use glucose powder instead of corn syrup for a nougat recipe?

Speaking as a diabetic, I think they are the same. So is sugar. However the corn syrup has more bulk which I would have thought would give the nougat its bulk and texture.
