You can thin the sauce down; you can add yoghurt to it;you can add some sugar to the sauce, you can put several potatoes in it and cook til they are tender-they will absorb the heat;you can remove as much of the too-hot sauce as you can-then make a fresh batch of milder sauce.......you can do all of the above!

If you have any cans of chick pea dal or some cooked lentils, you can serve them up as side dishes and just warn everyone... the main dish is a tad spicy lol.... Failing that, add a whole raft of extra veg/meat/whatever to your curry. Ensure there is plenty of rice and naan/chapatti breads for your guests to eat. Instead of serving up lager or wine with the meal, add a milky or yoghurt drink (lassi) - that is great for cooling down the palate !
