Food freezing

Can the following be frozen?;
1. iced birthday cake (sponge)
2. fruit cake

fruit cake yes, although if its a rich one, you probably don't need to. Birthday cake maybe. depends what the icing and filling are, sometimes the icing and filling will weep.
