Supermarket price of your 5-A-Day

The "Home Delivery" price of the following fruits is as follows:-
Home-grown cherries = 5p each, home grown strawberries = 8.7p each, grapes =4.5p each, eating apples=50p each, bananas=20p each.
I'm not complaining, but I was surprised to find how expensive these were.
The supermarket where I shop do a price check with other supermartkets and, if they are more expensive, they give you a refund.
On my last order for £26.45, I was refunded £3.99

The local market or greengrocer is the place for cheap fruit and veg.
Or grow your own, and eat what's in season!

You are right, hc4361 and roes, the markets are cheaper.
We used to shop at the Brighton Market at "The Level" when nearby car parking was available. Now it is almost impossible to find an empty space.
Incidentally, I was always in awe of the assistants who could add up 25 items by mental arithmetic and never make a mistake.
(I used to make occasional spot checks with a calculator)

Sorry, Toes, for calling you roes
I'm intrigued to know which supermarket sells cherries, strawberries etc individually rather than by weight.
