Vegetable Spiraliser

Does anyone have any experience of the above gadget? I really want to get one, but want to buy one that works! I have done research on line, so don't need links to information - just looking for personal recommendations please!

I don't understand what it does, apart from making fancy shaped veg - why? http://www.amazon.co....ralizer/dp/B003NXR086

it does exactly that Boxtops ...... I want to try it so I can make pasta dishes without pasta, by using "spaghetti" of courgette and carrot, for example, instead, helps cut carbs!
Now there's an idea!

Am a pasta and rice addict - and this type of gadget allows you to process veg to a similar shape, so can create some interesting veg hopefully!
Every home should have one, so that in later years children can ask, "What's this thing at the back of the cupboard for?"
my experience is that even the good ones don't help to keep the veg in spirals once its cooked. A mandoline might be better to make linguini
my O/H was always buying these gadgets, that only got used 1's,or took longer than if hadn't bothered, then I'm v.lazy on the cookery front!!
