What is the shelf life of chocolate powder or how long does it keep/

We just finished up a tub of drinking chocolate and I should think that we had had it for at least nine months and it still tasted fine.
It should have a BBE date on it but is usually fine well beyond it

Thank you for the information. Our tin was unopened, over a year old and has no dates but the ingredients seem to be things that don't go bad so we have opened it and it is fine.
