How do you freeze rhubarb?

I have a glut of rhubarb at the moment, how do i freeze it? should it be cooked first or is raw ok?

I'd blanche it first, stops the bacteria having a chance to grow during thawing. ;-)
Works either way - either cook it briefly with some sugar and freeze it as stewed rhubarb, or just chop it into pieces, shake in a freezer bag with a few spoonfuls of brown sugar, squash as much air out of the bag as possible and freeze raw.

Thank you both for your answers. I have never had to freeze rhubarb before so was not sure, I have enough rhubarb to try both of your suggestions we'll see in a few months how each one turns out.
