Flavoured Couscous

For the first time in my life, I`ve discovered couscous. I`ve had the odd mouthful in the past but never really been into it. I`m on a diet and thought it would be a really good thing to eat because the packet I`ve got (Aldi) is only 2 points for half the pack. It was the lemon and coriander one. It`s got an overpowering, false taste of lemons though. Can anyone recommend some good brands? I can`t be bothered chopping up herbs etc so would like something already flavoured (and preferably without loads of added fat/oil). Thanks

Why not try it just plain, the sauce from your accompanying dish will flavour it. Basically it is just semolina, very light on the stomach and easily digestible. It also has to be the easiest thing in the world to cook.

Thanks Mike. I`m going a bit careful with sauces at the moment as I`m on Weightwatchers. I`ve just had it with a bit of seared tuna and some salad. It`s lovely but needs a bit of sprucing up. You`re right about it being easy to cook. It only took about 2 minutes.
Ainsley Harriot does a lovely Morrocon one that you just add hot water too and leave for 5 mins - low fat and free on slimmers world

Thanks FGT - I seem to remember he did them but didn`t know if he still does. I`ll check it out at Sainsburys.
I second Ainsley's ones.
I find the flavoured ones too strong and rather artificial. I often make a bolognese or a chilli con carne, substituting couscous for spaghetti or rice. As I said, so easy to cook and much more easily digested.

I would imagine minted couscous with middle eastern spiced lamb would be nice. I could stretch to chopping up a bit of mint. The Ainsley Morrocon one would be nice with harissa chicken.
The AH ones are nice not too strong or artifical tasting - I add spring onions, cucumber (if eating cold) chopped peppers, sweetcorn and chopped fresh tomatoes and sometimes chicken and mix 1 sachet then does two main meals with ease
I make mine myself with a little oil, lemon juice, salt and pepper, dried mixed herbs and a spoon of harissa. Yum!
Try plain cous cous, add your own real lemon juice, perhaps some chopped mint (takes 10 seconds) and if liked a little onion (can be bought ready chopped).
