Christmas Treats ...

What food means 'Christmas' to you ...

I just gave in to temptation and attacked the 'genuine turkish delight' that I bought (in theory) for Christmas Day - lovely rose & lemon stickiness that is the essence of a Christmas treat ... what rings your bell?

Yes, I know you're right ladyj, I probably will. Not sure how dinner will go though if I drink the whole bottle of fizz on my own, but then it's only me and I shall be taking a lot of short cuts this year.
oh Jan my heart goes out to you.
my greatest wish is to see my family but i know they are all working hard and have their own lives to lead but i would love for them to come and stay so i could do my mother hen act.
Cold turkey the following day, with all the bits that go with it;
Turkey sandwiches on Christmas Night;
Playing Pit with my family when I was 14;
the all afternoon Monopoly session;
Plain chocolate toblerone:
Roasted Chestnuts on a frosty evening;

And to Jan, I know just how you feel, we're torn between celebrating or letting it slip by. I'm far luckier than you. Like other have said, we have to try & think what would - in my case Peggy; yours Gary - have wanted. They'll look down and hopefully see us finding something to smile over Christmas. Take care hun, stay strong X X X
Thanks ladyj and kia cat, and my best to you too. xxx
