Couscous would be the traditional choice,or Moroccan flatbreads. But-if rice is to be served,I'd go for Basmati...not western white rice.

Think I'd prefer couscous too. However, if you want rice you could make it slightly more interesting by cooking it with some mild spices - turmeric and a piece of cinnamon stick, for example.
I was served rice with this, in a lebanese restaurant. You don't have any gluten free people in the number you are serving? In this case, rice would be your only option. In restaurants they often serve rice moulded (a small bowl or cup would do) You could make a few in advance and store in a tray in the oven on a very low heat with foil over the top, save getting rice EVERYWHERE!!!

Thankyou! I'll toss a coin!
Definitely cous cous. Maybe you could make some Morocco flatbreads if you are feeling adventurous.
Probably too late for this answer grange but try Moroccan Pilauf; we made lamb tagine and had pilauf with it and it was fab - think the recipe was from the BBC Good Food website
