Eating Out

Gluten Free - New York

I'm going to NYC later this year and I cannot eat anything with gluten in it. Can anyone tell me how easy this is in New York? Hhow difficult will eating out with my friends be? Is it better or worse than London/England?

Not sure about gluten free stuff but i am a vegetarian and found it quite hard to find nice vegetarian food in NY (have been 3 times and each time was the same). I did enjoy eating in Maxies Diner, time square - massive portions and lovely food. I didn't go to any fancy restaurants but maybe they would be more accomodating for you.
