London restaurants

Anyone any suggestions for good restaurants in London. We have done the main 'celebrity chef' places and a few themed places such as Sarastro and Mongolian Bar B Q. Anyone have any ideas for something a little different or maybe a themed restaurant. Thanks

quite like the Shish restaurants if I'm ever in town.

Suggest try 'Caravela' at 39 Beauchamp Place, SW3 1NX

Darn good small Portugese restuarant - fado music, guitar playing, audience participation - door gets closed and you stay all night..... Food simple and unpretentious, good efficient service and honest grub...really nice to have something simple and tasty rather than loud and money grabbing....

This is a good restuarant, not one of the fashionable here today gone tomorrow types. Been open for years...which is a good sign of a decent place to eat.

Thanks for the suggestions, will give them a try.
Give La Porte Des Indes a go, its an indian with a twist (a very nice one). Its just by Marble Arch
try benihanas in mayfair, far eastern cooked in the round with flair, good and fun
Whenever I'm in London it has to be the Oxo Tower - the food is fantastic and the view across the Thames is stunning.
Try Soho House in London's Soho, or Cuban Floridita, or perhaps Ping Pong Dim Sum http://www.bizwiki.co.uk/chinese-restaurants/1 546621/ping-pong-dim-sum.htm
