Yesterday, I was in Morrisons and really fancied a bottle of Retsina, to go with the smoked haddock that I was going to have for my dinner.

I remember those wonderful oily Retsinas from my youth, travelling around the Greek Islands.....always served from a jug ...and cheap as chips !

So I asked the Morrisons chap in the wine aisle, and he asked where did Retsina come from. when I told him Greece, he started rummaging around in the Australian section. When I asked him why, he said...."well...isn't Greece in Australia ? "

I gave up at that stage and bought a nice Muscadet instead !

Flagons are a thing of the past Mikey, but "goon bags" are available.
mikey he has a point - there are over 150000 Greek heritage folk in Melbourne, making it the 6th largest Greek city in the world. London, if you include the Cypriots would be number 7. Montreal would just make the top 20.
