going away party ideas please...........

I am holding a party for my daughter who is off to Afghanistan soon.
I have a room, disco, photographer and we are going to raise money on the night for H4H.
Any ideas on how to add to the night without too much expense to make it special please ?

Hope the party is funl and would like to wish your daughter well. The only thing I can think of at the moment, you may well have already thought of this, is to buy some small sort of notebook in which guests can secretly write their own special messages for your daughter which can then be presented to her so that she can take it with her to read whilst away.

Get someone with a game console, project onto wall/screen. Charge small fee and have a Dance off. Great fun.Winner gets put on youtube

you could hire a caricature artist perhaps to go round the room drawing...?

a magician?

a facepainter? who does kids and adults...such as diamante patterns, henna etc (

someone to organise a few games...limbo etc

fortune telling?

you could ask people do donate in return for the pics and painting etc.

approach a local wine bar or drinksdistribution company to see if they will do wine at cost and charge guests for it..........prepare a wee fact sheet and photos to the local rag so they can run an article and they may include a contact for other folk to donate to the cause, especially with your daughter going.

Could she send the paper a diary on a regular basis as well - might just open up a second career option for when she comes back.....and keep H4H in the local limelight as to future fund raising
