what site did she use?
Question Author
As far as she knows only M and D.
m and d?
I have purchased hundreds of things online using my debit card over the years and have never had any problems. Then again I am very careful about which sites I use.
Still no reply to my question ;s
Same here Daffy. Been online shopping for years and I have never had a problem. I would say you are just as likely to have your card cloned in some shops. You just have to be careful wherever you buy anything with you card.
What's M and D? - I have never heard of it. I buy on-line often - no problems so far...
Could it be a typo? M and S?
My Virgin card got cloned a few weeks ago, which was a right pain as I'd used it for years without any problems. Someone had used it for mobile phone top ups & some sim card thingy for use in the Caribbean. Luckily Virgin contacted me early enough and stopped the transactions.

Sorry I havent got back before. it should have been M and M direct , they sell clothes ect. But then again she could have had it cloned anywhere. My Visa card was cloned twice a couple of years ago. It was being used somewhere in the Caribbean. But Visa isnt as bad as your bank account I don;t think. As now she has no money in the bank until they send her a new account.

Unlikely to be the website the company has been going for years now. But has she used a cash machine outside a supermarket recently..these are often used for card skimming.
There are lots of ways that cards can be compromised. On line, at machines in restaurants the list is almost endless.

This is when you find out how good the security department at your card provider is.

I've had a few events and found the guys at HSBC to be really hot on catching attempts and very responsive.

If your bank is difficult about getting this sorted out - move bank
