Has this action done more for the BNP cause.

Why is there a one rule for some but none for others?

Here we have what is described as a totally non-political institution (The Monarchy), now involved in party politics.

Because the Queen is very fond of the Commonwealth (someone has to be).

That's not going to make racists like the BNP very popular with her is it?

its her party, she can invite who she likes.
I think Nicky played right into their hands by going on TV and talking about going.

That just isn't the 'Done Thing.'

If they wanted an excuse to exclude him, he handed it to them on a plate.
.
Cop out by Buck Palace, he had a right to be there but pressure from the ConDems obviously paid off

Far more unsavoury characters than Nick Griffin have visited Buck Palace to meet Liz in the past
I wouldn't limit it to the Conservatives and the Liberals Joe

The BNP are detested by the Labour party , the SNP and pretty much every other political party in the country
True JL

It's odd that this just go this way; the Palace is well practised at having people attend a garden party but excluding them too!

The way it's organised there are subtle ways in which Griffin could have been there but never got within 100m of anyone 'important' and certainly denied any publicity opportunity.

So I think the Palace would have been more subtle than this.
.
1) She isn't involved

2) Its the opposite of party politics. Its because he politicised it that he has had his invitation removed.

3) This is his 2nd invitation he turned down the 1st.

I know, I know but this wasn't under discussion.

rojash, was unaware that this award ever took place.

Still gave you some practice in coping and pasting. :0)
Mr Griffin has been a lttle naive.

Fancy posting that the invitation was "a 'highly symbolic breakthrough' for the BNP.

He was invited because he's an MEP, and he was using it as some kind of validation of the BNP as a political force. It would've made more sense if he'd posted something along the lines of, "I feel honoured at the invitation and am looking forward to engaging in a traditional British event".

That would've satisfied his supporters AND got across the message he'd want to say.

Silly Nicky Boy.

Nice cravat and waistcost though...he scrubs up quite well.

Why the coloured background to my question?
"It all happened under your nose rojash, disgusting isn't it? "
Don't quite understand that remark AOG.

The reason I didn't find in when googling was that you'd mentioned him being invited to a Garden Party, so that's what I googled.

But isn't it the case that at that time (1994) Mugabe was a respected a statesmen, who was advocating peace and reconciliation between the various African tribal factions and white residents of Zimbabwe?
//. Has this action done more for the BNP cause(?) //

Nope, the BNP have had it. A disastrous showing at the election and internal divisions will see the extreme right implode, probably emerging as two or more rival factions, weaker, and even more unelectable.
Do you get the feeling the BNP has merged with the English Defence League?
