At work you are in a meeting with your phone in your pocket, it's vibrating several times but you can't answer. When the meeting is over you look at your phone and see that you pocket texted a random letter and your spouse is like "What The Funicular". They call again, you are able to answer, "What are you doing!!" says the spouse. You get to the car they are yelling, "What are you doing up there that you aren't answering" you reply, "I was in a meeting". Would that make you inconsiderate or was the spouse over exaggerating?

You can't 'pocket text' a random letter
Depends on the random letter I suppose.

Over reacting.
My hubby would never do it, he has enough sense to realise there are moments when you cannot answer your phone.
If you knew you were going to be unavailable because of a meeting, you should have let him/her know, and switched your phone off whilst at the meeting. All brought on by inconsideration and lack of forethought by you.
If my spouse knew my job involved meetings , then a simple 'Couldn't answer I was in a meeting' would suffice.
A not too good start to AB membership, but welcome and meet some good people.

What Mamyalynne said.
Your spouse seems insecure. Have they reason to be ?
Time to get a new wife and a phone with an off switch.
Or Husband.
^^^^^ Sorry , spouse.
:-)
If you can't answer the phone, you can call them back. But texted and then no response is not cool.
Why wasn't the phone just switched off when at a meeting? Then switched back on when it's over. How hard is that?
Maybe because then you'd miss work related texts/calls, which may be important that they're responded to ASAP. It's useful to be able to glance at the caller's name or text to decide. Accept that family calls may also be vital (not in this case) but then they can text to say it is urgent that you pick up the call.
yeah she should get educated and realise there are times when you cant answer instantly

I still email and post letters a lot

Last week in my accountancy evg class, the portugoose was constantly texted by his wife with the result that over three hours he didnt learn nutting ( he also didnt speak English v well but ho hum )
and she knew where he was for chrissakes
o hahaha I must tell you this

the other week I was late ( for the same class )
and the lecturer said you should have texted me

and I said I am over sixty I dont do things like text....
Complete over reaction.
PP, it's a good job he didn't expect you to tweet him! Tweeting seems to be the new texting, or maybe I'm behind already.
I don't know enough about your previous behaviour to answer your question.
