Since my retirement I don't notice days of the week much...it was 2pm today before I realised it was Sunday and not Monday....but a friend has topped this....

We've just had a chat on the phone.....on Friday morning she decided to go shopping... the long shopping when you just mooch around...have coffee..etc.

Returning home at 5.45 she spotted her frozen and hungry husband coming out of the garden shed....
He'd gone out to do some gardening.....she'd locked the house up forgetting he was no longer working ...and there is no exit from their back garden......☺

Cory....I think she quite likes him.....now me.....I'd put him in the freezer or under the patio...☺

There's only so much muck you can stuff down your trousers,Tony...☺

MrG once locked me in our cattery....we were cleaning when he popped up to the house for something....unfortunately there was a football match on TV and he forgot about me.
I could see through the window....every goal scored..every penalty missed....
Didn't get out til Mr Next Door heard me yelling and came to my rescue...x

Yeah, it would mean cutting holes in your pockets I suppose ;-)
It really is difficult to differentiate days, especially since nibble works on any day, not just weekdays. However - I've gone back to work part-time, so I'm having to get my body clock in gear again!
This retirement lark isn't all it's cracked up to be, so many people think you have so much time on your hand you could be doing things for them

Ooo...difficult, Boxy....

Psyb....I maintain when you retire you only do one thing each day.....x
During the time I was genuinely retired, I never had nothing to do!
I dont think I will want to retire when the time comes. When the ex retired he turned into a (n even more) grumpy old g.t and I would dread that happening to me. I'd have happily locked him in the shed or garage anyday.
Question Author
Lard...I couldn't be happier....I think I spent so long trying to work and look after MrG that I'm loving just being me....and doing things for me....x
I try doing this all the time yet O/H still doesn't take the hint!

I closed my Business at the end of June, packed it all in just before I hit 63.
I'm already looking at new Business ideas despite the fact we have 6 rentals to look after.
There's only so much Dog walking you can do, before they go on strike!

Wait til it snows, Petal....☺

You got the retirement fidgets then, Baldric?

Yeh, it's daft really, got a comfortable living from the Rental Business, haven't needed to touch Pensions yet feel kinda guilty doing nothing but enjoying it, maybe need to chuck in a bit of Travel, I don't know!
Question Author
My retirement was a bit staggered but I did work at home even after MrG died and like the friends who retired around the same time I felt guilty too when I stopped for good.....like you say....daft.

It took me until this year I think to actually sit back and say....you've worked for this.....enjoy it....x
Oh, don't feel guilty about doing nothing - I hibernate for the winter, but when spring comes .. there just aren't enough hours in a day.
